It's My Birthday. I Can Cry If I Want To

I love vampires as many of you know, so I watch True Blood, of course. They also had a panel at Comic-con that took place yesterday. Apparently Maryanne (the lady that took Tara in when her mother abandoned her) is going to finally show what she truly is...the minotaur thing that attacked Sookie a few weeks back. It was also stated by Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) that the love triangle between Sookie, Bill and Eric will play out in the series just as it has in the books. I've never read any of those book, but I have heard that they are very adult versions of Twilight. If they are anything like the show, I just might have to give them a read. ;o) Another cool announcement was that there are plans to release an actual True Blood drink. The show's creator Alan Ball said that it will be "a very tasty blood orange soda" that has "all natural ingredients." It will also come in the same sort of bottle that is presented in on the show and can be pre-ordered at hbo.com. I think that sounds so cool, and who doesn't love orange soda? If you'd like to read the story from E! News---here ya go!

Thanks to my favorite website, newmoonmovie.org, a picture was released of Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen) in disguise so that he could walk the floor at Comic-Con. For one, I love that he was a big enough nerd that he wanted to check out the excitement of the event. Second, did he really think this disguise would fool anyone? I might not have recognized him , but I wonder if any other Twilighters did? Could he be any cuter?

Also, on the Twilight front, I wanted to tell my readers about some pretty good fan fiction I have been reading lately. It is called Wide Awake. It is an unusual scenario that involves the idea of Bella being an orphan that goes to live in a girls home run by Esme and there is a boy's home next door run by Carlisle. None of them are vampires, but Edward is a "bad boy" and Bella is a depressed young girl. I must warn you though, there is quite a bit of bad language, and it is pretty steamy! I don't know much about the author, except that she is dedicated and is a decent writer. I am becoming more familiar with fan fiction and some of it is good, some is bad. If you'd like to read Wide Awake I will provide the link below.

I also wanted to share a new picture from Alice in Wonderland of The Red Queen. I am so excited for this movie to come out. March 5, 2010 seems so far away...DUH! Probably because it IS! I hope more photos keep coming out slowly. All of the Burton/Depp fans will be ravenous by then. I think she looks a lot like Elizabeth I.

I am also on flickr, which is a photo sharing website that I adore. I have a photo that I posted there on March 25, 2009 from our Spring Break trip to Forks/La Push and the photo has passed the 1,000 views mark. Most of my photos have around 100 views or less, so for this one to reach this milestone is very special to me.

There isn't a whole lot more to say today, except that it's my birthday. I am 32 years old today. I'll tell you what is crazy: The day I came into the world, I was born at 11:54pm, so technically my birthday is only six minutes long. This has been a crummy birthday. I hate that as you get older, the less important your birthday is. I didn't get any actual gifts today. My mother and Zane each got me a card, which were so sweet. When I got home and checked the mail, though there were no other cards. I'd be lying if I said I haven't been sad today. Thankfully lots of my facebook friends have sent greetings and that cheered me up. Even though the party yesterday was mainly meant for Camryn, I had some wonderful friends and family who made me feel special, but I wish I had felt a little more of that today. It meant the world to me to get to have a good conversation with my friend Anna. She is one of the best listeners I know and it felt good to get some things off of my chest, so Anna, if you read this...I love you and thank you.

There were lots of pictures taken of the festivities. Particularly of me, my sister, Anna and our friend Stephanie on the tube together being dragged around Lake Keowee. I will attempt to get some of those, so that I can share them. They were pretty entertaining!

Today is also the estimated birthday of my precious pup, Lily. Zane and I got her from the Blount County Boston Terrier Rescue in October 2007. They estimated her birthday to be July 26. The vet estimated it to be on July 21, so of course I go with July 26. Taking her home that day was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She is 2 years old today!
